David Lee Davies
Born at 17-02, on 12th October.
2 Months Premature, weighing in at just 1lb 14oz.
This is my weekly report on my grandson Lee.
That's the name both parents have decided to call him by.
Week 1
Lee had a difficult few days at the start, having to have a blood transfusion and spend sometime sunbathing under a lamp as he was a little jaundiced.
But is doing really well.
Have to admit I was on a high when I called in to see him on Wednesday afternoon, they had taken his air tube out for a while and we were able to hold him for the first time while he spent an hour out of the incubator.
He is so small but perfectly formed.
Must say I was a little shocked when they weighed him and said he was now 1lb 11oz. I know it's only 3oz but in someone so small. They assured me that it was natural to loose some weight at first.
Look at me I'm talking as if I gave birth to him.
Still each day that passes with him improving means he'll be home sooner.
check out these pictures of him on Wednesday just 5 days old.

LEE Sunbathing
Week 2
Really pleased with Lee's progress. He is spending more time out of the incubator. And only has his feeding tube connected.
The best news this week also has to be that he now weighs 2lb 1oz.
It's his Dad's birthday today aswell, So Happy Birthday Jamie. Bet you are going to have the best Christmas ever.
Week 3
Well this week really was full of suprises. Lee now weighs in at 2lb 5oz. He now spends up to 12 hours without the ventulator. I am over the moon with his progress.
However the biggest suprise this week was my cousin Tracy became a grandmother her Daughter Jenna gave birth 2 weeks ago to twins.
Well done was my first reaction only to find they were born 13 weeks premature.
Both Boys Stephan 2lb 8oz & Cellan 2lb 10oz.
That said they turn out to be on the same ward as Lee.
This I found out last night only to be told that today all three are ironically now in the same room and alongside each other. Can't wait to go and see all of them.
Mean while here's this weeks piccies.
Here's the Twins
CELLAN
STEPHAN
Week 4
Lee continues to put on weight and is doing really well.
He now weighs 2lb 13oz and is spending more time out of the incubator.
If all goes well he might be out sooner than we thought. "Fingers crossed"
The Twins have unfortunately had a bad start to the week and have for the time being been moved apart into another room. But they are now improoving. Lets hope they make a good recovery soon.
In the meantime here's this weeks piccies of Lee.
Week 5
Well things are really looking up this week.
Lee now weighs 3lb 6oz and had his first bottled drink.
He's a real MAN, Handled his first bottled drink well.
Won't be long before he moves onto pints.
Expect I'll find him in the local next week.
Well done Lee keep it up.
Week 6
What can I say, Lee is really gaining in weight and indipendence.
Now weighing in at 4lb 3oz. He is now taking on 2 bottles a day.
I wonder if he's up for a full Sunday Dinner next week, then up to the park for a game or two of Rugby.
He could be the next Hooker for Wales at the rate he's going.
WEEK 7
Lee is now 8 weeks old and this week has been very hard for him. Having had a poor start to the week with a few ailments. He has weathered the storm well and has now left the Special baby unit.
He is now on the babies ward and in a cot. 2days ago he saw off 45ml bottles with ease and now 70mls are a breeze.
The best news is that Mum and Dad will be spending the night on the ward on Monday as they have been told that if things continue going the way they are.
Lee could be allowed home by the end of next week.
He may have to continue with the Oxogen tube for a few weeks but it's a step in the right direction.
After a few weeks of no piccies,
Here's the lastest batch.
Week 8
Unfortunately Lee was not able to leave hospital on Friday, Due to a number of small problems.
However they are hoping that he will be able to leave at the end of next week.
He has now come of oxygen and is drinking well.
The best bit is he now weighs 5lb 5oz oooohh yes he is a real babies weight.
So fingers are now well and truly crossed for Friday 21st December.
Christmas is coming in a big way.
STOP PRESS..............Friday 14th December
Just found out Lee is to hopefully be discharged from Hospital on Monday if all goes well.
Both parents are to spend the weekend at the Hospital making sure they cover all eventuallities.
Then if all works out Lee will be home on Monday.
After 9 Weeks and 3 Days or 66 Days
I am pleased to say Lee is finally home.
Now weighing in at 5lb 12oz.
Lee still has to have his oxygen for now but at least he's home for Christmas.
I would like to thank all the nursing staff and doctors, who have helped Lee over the last 9 weeks or so.
You really are special people.
Thank you
Week 10
Lee has been home for a week now and has been spoilt. Well it is Christmas afterall.
It's just lovely to see him out of Hospital.
Week 11
After 10 Days at home Lee has been admitted back into hospital with Bronchitus.
I'm told it's just a precaution as he is so small.
Got everything crossed for him.
God bless
Week 12
Lee is still in Hospital and is back on Oxygene. He took a nasty turn today had us all worried. He is now on a feeding tube again.
Seems things are building up for him, poor thing is still putting up a good fight though.
God Bless.
Week 13
It's Sunday 6th January and Lee is once again Home.
I hope this is for good this time, so I will stay very quiet just in case.
Welcome home Lee.
1 year on and Lee is not only developing well but now has a baby sister.
